President Muhammadu Buhari has paid tribute to womenfolk on the occasion of the International Women’s Day. In a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and publicity, Femi Adesina, the President said, “This election season we are in has brought out in bold relief once again the crucial role women play in our lives as a people…They have stood up to be counted as aspirants, candidates, mobilisers, and voters. Diezani vs EFCC: Four years of boju boju

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday, raised the alarm that the British government was frustrating trial of former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Allison-Madueke, for alleged graft. In a statement signed by the acting spokesman of the commission, Tony Orilade, the commission said: “We are intent on bringing Diezani to justice and despite the spirited efforts of the commission in ensuring that she returns to Nigeria and face trial, she has been held back in the UK by an investigation that has spanned almost four years without any signal about when she will be available in Nigeria for prosecution.” EFCC, so una think say Diezani go like enter Kirikiri? The log in Buhari’s eyes

President Muhammadu Buhari has berated the Peoples Democratic Party, saying that in 16 years, the party squandered Nigeria’s wealth irresponsibly and in an unprecedented manner. Buhari spoke in Abuja during his meeting with the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress. “They [PDP] earned money from petroleum in 16 years. You know the railway was virtually gone and power; I asked where is the power? They spent $16bn on power and Nigerians are asking, where is the power? It was unprecedented, irresponsible expenditure.” But in its reaction, the PDP said Nigerians should ask the President to sit up and face the job he begged Nigerians to do instead of lamenting on the things that had been consigned into the dustbin of history. Touché! This Bubu’s obsession with PDP is just irritating. Him never tell us wetin dey worry am.

We go show una our red eye, Police warn thugs, ballot box snatchers

Acting Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has warned intending violators of the electoral process of severe consequences, stating resolve of the security agencies to come down hard on thugs, ballot box snatchers and riggers bent on disrupting the election. The police chief read the riot act while addressing a meeting of Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES), Thursday in Abuja. He said: “It is going to be very very tough for those that disrupted the process last time in some of the states. They will never get the opportunity to disrupt the process again. If you attempt to do that, there will be consequences. It is better for you to stay at home than to come out to disrupt the process. Don’t attempt because we have known your modus operandi, and we are ready for you.” Okay na, Police is our friend, we go believe una…after tomorrow.

The wages of Ramos’ sins

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos had a fierce argument with club President Florentino Perez in the team’s dressing room after Tuesday’s 4-1 home defeat by Ajax Amsterdam. This is according to AS, a Spanish daily sports newspaper. Perez told the squad he thought their display in the last 16 second leg defeat, their joint-heaviest home loss in European competition, was “shameful”. This had prompted an angry reaction from Ramos who missed the game due to suspension. Perez said he would sack the defender, who, according to AS, replied by saying, “Pay me and I will leave, I have given everything and broken my back for this badge, this club and for you.” Hmmm. Methinks this is the God of Salah working. Sergio and the whole Real Madrid team need to go and apologise to that Egyptian.

Ronda Rousey’s shenanigans

American professional wrestler who’s signed to WWE, Ronda Rousey, launched into an F-Word-riddled rant at RAW on Monday night where she claimed that all wrestling is fake and scripted. The 32-year-old hit out at the WWE Universe and the audience, accusing them of not showing her the respect she deserves. Some of her words: “…they can explain it however they want, but f***em. Everybody. WWE Universe included. I meant that I’m going to disrespect the sport that they all love so much. ‘Ohhhh don’t break kayfabe Ronda!’ Wrestling is scripted. It’s made up. It’s not real. None of those b****** can f***ing touch me. The end.” Mtcheew. Scripted or not, ‘80s and ‘90s kids like me will always worship Hulk Hogan, Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels. Leave our fantasy alone, sis.
