Moral Instruction, according to Femi Falana

Human rights activist, Femi Falana (SAN), has described the 2019 general elections as “a useless enterprise” and “an expensive joke,” noting that governments at all levels must have expended over N250bn on it. Falana said this during an interview on Sunrise Daily, a programme on Channels Television. Falana also said it was ironic that the same All Progressives Congress (APC) that had gone to court to get judgments barring the military from participating in elections could still go ahead to deploy soldiers. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) wasn’t spared too. Falana accused the party of boasting while it was in power that it would remain in power for 60 years based on the rigged system that favoured them at the time. Mehn. Baba Falz didn’t come to play o. Moral Instruction would have had more bite if he had recorded it and not his son. Just saying.

A governor, his in-law and the people

Gubernatorial candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in Imo State, Uche Nwosu, has said he will challenge the emergence of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s counterpart, Emeka Ihedioha as winner of Saturday’s polls in court. Nwosu, a son-in-law to Governor Rochas Okorocha, argued that Ihedioha did not meet the constitutional requirement to have emerged the governor-elect.

He said: “As far as I am concerned, this is a stolen mandate and I will challenge it at the tribunal…There should have been a rerun between me and him as the two leading candidates. That is the position of the law. Although he won in 11 local government areas and I in 10, I got greater spread than him.” Not one to take a dump on wherever a person finds love but Oga Nwosu should go and hold his in-law responsible: he’s suffering from transferred aggression.

Toyin Abraham no gree shine teeth with MC Galazy

Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham, has criticised singer MC Galaxy for allegedly requesting young women to go nude in exchange for N50,000. The actress, in a statement posted on her Instagram page, said, “I sincerely can’t fathom what you need or gain from this despicable act when you could have checked in on pornographic sites on the Internet. I am not trying to be a moral judge. I am the least qualified to judge a fellow human, but just the way you used your influence and platform for this woman-debasing act, I am also using mine to stand against an act that ridicules women and further proves that some men are scum.” MC Galaxy also came on Instagram to apologise, saying it was a case of Instagram live gone wrong and that “we will handle things better next time”. Hmmm. But that look I saw in MC Galaxy’s eyes in the video sha. Let me comment my reserve.

Chinese school wahala

A university professor in China has divided opinion after setting his students an assignment to add as many friends as possible on the messaging app WeChat. WeChat is the equivalent to WhatsApp in China – and with more than one billion monthly users – it is the country’s most popular social media platform. Students enrolled on the Internet and New Media course at Henan University of Economics and Law in Central China’s Henan Province were requested to add at least 1,000 new WeChat friends to pass the assignment, which accounts for 30% of their final grade. LOL. 1000 new friends? Haba. Even a big gun like Jesus had only twelve followers on Twitter that year. This is why I trust my fellow lazy Nigerian youth, ain’t nobody got time for that!

A different kind of Lenten fast

Del Hall, a brewery worker, resident in Cincinnati, Ohio said he will shun all solid food and consume nothing but beer for the 46 days of Lent. He said he was inspired by 17th century Bavarian monks who subsided on nutrient-fortified beer during Lent. He hopes his unusual ‘fast’ will help him overcome his addiction to junk food laden with carbohydrates and sugar.

The beer company sales director is already a week into his Lenten fast, which began on Ash Wednesday, and says he has so far lost 15.2 pounds. He told the Cincinnati Enquirer: “I feel amazing. I feel like this mental fog has been lifted.” This one is just looking for excuse to drink. Shior. Anyway, as Wizkid once tweeted, “chop life, make life no chop u”.
