Wife of the president, Aisha Buhari, has said she wished her husband’s cabinet will have as many women in percentage as the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP) has in 2019. Speaking at the unveiling event for the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) entrepreneurs for 2019, Mrs. Buhari said she appreciated the drive of the foundation to ensure more female participation.
She said: “It is worthy to note that there has been a progressive increase in female participation in the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme over the years, with a 41.6 per cent female representation in 2019. I wish the cabinet will have the same percentage.” LOL. I’m sure Oga Buhari must be angry at Aunty Aisha for going to the event sef, when she’s supposed to be reporting in the you-know-what room.
Now we can hear Onnoghen’s side
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has rested its case of alleged misconduct against the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, at the National Judicial Council. The commission was said to have called its first witness on March 12 and rested its case within one week.
“The EFCC has rested its case and Justice Onnoghen has opened his defence. With this, we expect that the NJC will soon end its investigation,” a source said. Does this mean we can begin to ask questions? No one should risk spending 28 years until Danladi Umar’s retirement, abi?

This was as he disclosed plans to announce members of his Transition Committee. “I am very committed to liberating our state. I will strive to correct the ills in our state and make things work for the better,” he said. “And, in the course of it, I will step on some toes…Rather than condemn for condemning sake, I urge our people to please feel free to tell me those things you think we can do to get things right. A British Airways flight destined for Dusseldorf in Germany has landed in Edinburgh by mistake, after the flight paperwork was submitted incorrectly. The passengers only realised the error when the plane landed and the “welcome to Edinburgh” announcement was made. “We have apologised to customers for this interruption to their journey and will be contacting them all individually,” British Airways said in a statement. BA declined to say how many passengers were affected by the mistake. The flight has now been redirected and landed in Dusseldorf, British Airways said. Hmmm. Let me find my way into a plane heading to Canada first. I’ll not return to this country by mistake.
In Wales, there’s no rod left to spare
New legislation which would ban adults from being able to smack their children has been introduced in Wales. The Welsh Government wants to remove the common law defence of reasonable punishment which is currently available to parental figures if accused of assault or battery against a child.
But the plans have been criticised by the campaign group Be Reasonable – backed by The Christian Institute and The Family Education Trust – which said the legislation would criminalise parents. Wales’ deputy minister for health and social services, Julie Morgan, said: “We are sending a clear message that the physical punishment of children is not acceptable in Wales. What may have been deemed as appropriate in the past is no longer acceptable. Our children must feel safe and be treated with dignity.” Funke! Some Naija parents in Wales must be weeping now.
