Islamisation: Fear not, Osinbajo tells Nigerians

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has dispelled insinuations about an underground plot by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to Islamise Nigeria. State House Chaplain, Pastor Oluseyi Malomo, said this on behalf of the vice president, during the 2019 Religious Liberty Partnership Consultation, in Abuja, on Tuesday, where he appealed for religious tolerance among Nigerians; for collective growth and development. “It’s unfortunate that the religion which is supposed to help all of us live in harmony has become a source of division for us. We must collectively resist that and support those things, religious or otherwise, that strengthen our peaceful co-existence.” Okay. By the way, how Sai Baba go islamise us when small thing him don run go London vacation? Pfft.

Birth certificates as rite of passage

The Governor of Ondo State, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, has declared that birth certificate would henceforth be one of the criteria for enrolment of pupils into primary schools in the state. He added that birth certificate would be a requirement for children under the age of five to access free medical treatment in the state. Akeredolu made the declaration during the stakeholders’ meeting on birth registration with the theme, “Accelerated Birth Registration,” initiated by the governor’s wife. He said, “The birth certificate would provide documentary evidence required for relevant occasions, such as school enrolment, voting and graduation; it will also give right of identity to the children.” This is a noble idea. Nuff said.

More money falls on Jussie Smollett

Jussie Smollett is set for a pay rise on the hit Fox series Empire, after having all charges against him dropped over the alleged hoax attack. The 36-year-old actor, who plays Jamal Lyon on Empire, faced 16 felony counts for filing a false police report about an allegedly homophobic and racially-charged attack in Chicago in February. Now, a source reveals Jussie will not only resume his role as Jamal in the musical drama, but will also receive a pay rise. “Fox believes his story and recognises what the scandal is going to do for ratings.” Okay, absolutely love Jussie Smollett but this matter get as e be. So after the hell that was raised, he’s now free, just like that, without any cogent explanation? I sha believe there’s a Thirsty pulling strings behind the scene.

Boju boju: A [serious] child’s play

A game of hide-and-seek between a father and son went so well it ended in six police officers having to be called in to help look for the boy. Officers rushed to the boy’s home on Tuesday afternoon only to find him five minutes after their arrival. Police said the four-year-old didn’t answer his dad’s calls because he “did not want to ruin the game of hide-and-seek”. “Reports like this are taken very seriously, but thankfully this had a positive ending,” a police spokeswoman said. Awww. You just have to admire the honesty of a child…until it’s beaten out of you by your Nigerian parents and they ask why you want to kill them when they didn’t kill their own parents. Story for another day.

How not to smell nice

Authorities in South Carolina say a man sprayed Axe body spray in his mouth to cover the smell of alcohol as deputies approached during a traffic stop. The State newspaper reports that Spartanburg County sheriff’s deputies stopped 49-year-old Efren Mencia-Ramirez on Saturday night after they say he sped past a deputy on Interstate 85 and swerved into another lane. The incident report says there was a 12-pack of beer on the floor and 10 of the beers were nearly empty. The report says Mencia-Ramirez had an open bottle between his legs, exhibited signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. LOL. This one is drunk sha, and he belongs behind bars too, not on the road.
