This revolution may not not be televised
According to him, the poverty rate is high in the country because of bad leadership. He said the N30,000 new minimum wage would not reduce poverty in Nigeria, adding that inflation would render the new pay worthless.
“It is high time the expired and old politicians who have held Nigeria down left the stage so that we can have a new Nigeria of our dream where things work,” he said. He urged the Nigeria Labour Congress to champion the revolution, which, according to him, is imminent.
Hmmm. Are you sure bishop is not mistaking Nigeria for Algeria?
Happy Workers’ Day: PDP come for APC
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned the federal government and All Progressives Congress (APC) against victimising workers. The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement lauded workers for their contributions to Nigeria’s stability and development.
He said, “It is however unfortunate that at the time Nigerian workers should have been getting ready to enjoy the benefits of a new order under Atiku Abubakar, the nation is being held back by the ills of electoral manipulations.
“The PDP urges Nigerian workers not to be despondent as the mandate, which was freely given to Atiku Abubakar, will be retrieved at the tribunal. The party therefore calls on workers, as patriotic Nigerians, to continue to put in their best.”
LOL. Atiku name must sha enter the matter. Like white on rice.
New changes, same old thing
Members of the Police Service Commission have opposed a plan by the acting Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to convert 1,060 police officers from general duty to specialists. The PSC members, Hajiya Najatu Muhammad, Dr Nkemka Jombo-ofo, Austin Braimoh and Rommy Mom, in a letter to the IG, dated April 29, 2019, explained that the affected policemen were validly converted from specialist to general duties, following series of communication between the Force headquarters and the commission on the need for the conversion.
The letter said, “For the purpose of emphasis, the decision to reverse these officers from general duty to specialists is such that only the commission can carry out since it borders on oversight and policy and, certainly, not an individual within the commission, not minding his office and standing.”
It further stated that it would be irresponsible and insensitive for a country with less than 350,000 police officers which is under-policed and going through serious security challenges to reduce the number of policemen from general duty.
General duty, special duty, wetin be the difference sef? What we are in need of is police force that actually works, knows its obligations to the masses and won’t arrest and rape sex workers or women returning from a night club.

The minister noted that President Buhari, on different occasions personally expressed his satisfaction with the ministry.

The gospel of Sufferhead Klopp
Liverpool will “suffer” in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final in Barcelona but will also have chances, says manager Jurgen Klopp. The Reds meet the Spanish champions at the Nou Camp tonight.
Klopp, who guided Liverpool to the final in 2018, said: “We were in contention last year, but they have been in contention for nearly 20 years. It will be so difficult, but I couldn’t be more excited to have the opportunity.”
“Will we be perfect? That’s not possible,” said Klopp. “Will we make mistakes? Oh, yes. Will we suffer? Oh, yes, 100%. Will there be moments when we have a chance? Yes, 100%. I hope we will use them – that is what we will try to do.”
I swear, the suffering no go get respect. But may the spirit of 2012 Chelsea—without the parking of molue, of course—fall on una.
