A friend with weed is a friend indeed

Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, has lauded Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, for highlighting the need for the state to tap into the legal marijuana market. Governor Akeredolu had on Tuesday revealed that Ondo State had embarked on a medical marijuana cultivation initiative.

On his Instagram page, Kuti shared a screenshot of Governor Akeredolu’s tweet on the matter and hinted at a possible relocation to Ondo State.

He captioned the screenshot, “Ehn Mr excellency sir, if you want me to move to your state, just say so. This beating about the bush is unnecessary. Afrobeat is about to switch home base y’all. Just imagine one good joint for my back ache then better Ondo pounded yam to heal my stomach pain, nuff said #getthesax#getmyload!!”

LOL. Baba is in search of a land filled with Rizla and lighter. Akeredolu should hurry up and do so that young men will see visions.

Stay woke, Buhari warns Osinbajo

President Muhammadu Buhari has warned Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to be careful the way he goes about implementing the TraderMoni, one of his administration’s Social Intervention Programmes (SIP).

Under the programme being implemented by the vice president’s office, beneficiaries receive funds ranging from N10,000 for the TraderMoni and N50,000 for the MarketMoni from the Bank of Industry, the bank implementing the fund.

Buhari who hosted Osinbajo, members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), security chiefs and chief executives of Federal Government agencies to a breaking of fast at the Presidential Villa on Monday, warned the vice president to be careful with the way he moves from one market to the other. “This market money, I warned the vice president, I don’t like him to be mobbed, especially the way I see hefty women coming and confronting him, he should be very careful,” Buhari said. “These are very good initiatives. Initially, I was quite reluctant but I must admit that they are very good programmes.”

LOL. What’s our president even saying? That Osinbajo is defenceless or what? Maybe Aunty Dolapo will know better.

US Embassy wants a face-me-I-face you

The United States Embassy in Nigeria has announced stiffer and stricter visa application processes for Nigerians. The embassy said in a statement on Tuesday that henceforth, all applicants including frequent travellers, who used to use the drop box method, would now have to appear for interviews each time they apply.

The statement read, “Effective at the close of business today, Tuesday, May 14, 2019, the US Mission to Nigeria is indefinitely suspending interview waivers for renewals, otherwise known as the ‘Drop box’ process.

“All applicants in Nigeria seeking a non-immigrant visa to the United States must apply online, and will be required to appear in-person at the US Embassy in Abuja or US Consulate General in Lagos to submit their application for review. Applicants must appear at the location they specified when applying for the visa renewal.” It, however, said diplomatic and government officials could continue to enjoy the status quo.

This people are just using style to put up wall. Donald, we see your handiwork. Wehdone sir.

Fighting corruption in the age of the next level

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has warned against giving bribes to government officials to obtain driving licences, passports or to clear goods at the ports, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

Osinbajo spoke on Tuesday in Abuja while declaring open the anti-corruption conference tagged ‘Collaborative Approach to Eradicating the Evils of Corruption in Nigeria’.

“There is no reason why any Nigerian should have to give a bribe to law enforcement agents to obtain driving licences or passports, or to clear goods at our ports,” Osinbajo said. “All the relevant government agencies have shown a serious commitment to eradicating these forms of corruption. Our next level is to create the environment for a collaboration between our agencies, civil society and other stakeholders.”

Mtcheew. Corruption fight that doesn’t involve APC members, isn’t that kwaruption in itself?

How not to steal a Ferrari

An opportunistic car “collector” used a test drive to make off with a Ferrari worth €2m (£1.7m; $2.2m).

The suspect had expressed interest in buying a 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO, police in the German city of Düsseldorf say. He turned up by taxi to the dealership and two hours later, on a test drive, it was time to swap drivers. But when the seller stepped out of the car, the would-be buyer quickly hit the accelerator and vanished. The car was later found in a garage.

The suspect, however, remains at large. Police have released a photograph of the man inspecting the Ferrari before the theft.

Olodo robber. Instead of him to… Please, it’s not from my mouth you people will hear I (successfully) stole my friend’s toy car.
