Oba Akiolu don find Obasanjo trouble

The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu on Wednesday said the election of President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term in office was a clear proof that no man, but God gives power. Akiolu made the statement when participants of the Senior Executive Course 41 of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, visited him at his palace in Lagos.

“I had said that Buhari would win even before the election, unfortunately, the number one person creating problems in this country is former president, Obasanjo.

“He arrogated to himself the powers of the Almighty Allah by saying it was the support he gave to Buhari that made him win the first term… The president’s victory clearly shows power belongs to God only and no man can decide who leads the country.”

Chai. Number one person creating problems in this country? This one go pain OBJ o. Oba, prepare yourself, you go soon read letter tire.

Rochas continues to point accusing fingers at Oshiomhole, APC

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has accused the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, and other leaders of the party of instigating the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other law enforcement agencies to arrest and detain him.

He said he had received no fewer than 25 invitations from the anti-corruption and law enforcement agencies “in purported investigation of projects executed by the state government in a bid to find some materials to justify their conclusion that” he is guilty of corrupt practices.

According to him, his travails started because he supported another candidate for the office of the National Chairman of APC against Oshiomhole.

APC don too worry Okorocha sha. Shey one statue for every APC member go solve this wahala?

SEC rings alarm bells about a loom(ing) ponzi disaster

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has raised the alarm over the activities of some fraudsters currently running an online investment scheme tagged ‘Loom Money Nigeria’. Acting Director General of the SEC, Ms. Mary Uduk during a press conference by the Minister of Finance in Abuja, warned Nigerians of the fraudulent activities of Loom promoters.

Uduk, who was represented by Acting Executive Commissioner, Operations of the SEC, Mr. Isyaku Tilde said the fraudsters carry out their illegitimate business activities via social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp luring young Nigerians to invest as low as N1000 and N13,000 and get as much as 8 times the value of the investment in 48 hours.

“Unlike MMM that had a website and the promoter known, the people promoting Loom are not yet known and this pyramid scheme operates through closed groups mainly on Facebook and WhatsApp. If it were a local Ponzi scheme with known offices, it would be very easy for the Commission to seal their offices and freeze their accounts,” SEC said. “We therefore wish to notify the investing public that the operation of this investment scheme has no tangible business model hence it’s a Ponzi scheme, where returns are paid from other people’s invested sum. Also, its operation is not registered by the Commission.”

Story. This one wey Nigerians don see money – no stopping them. For now, SEC be like John the Baptist.

Another chapter in the lingering Ogun, Lagos bromance

The Lagos State Criminal Information System, January-March, 2019 edition has identified stealing as the crime for which majority of inmates in the five prisons in the state are being held. It also identified Ogun as the state of origin of most of the inmates held in the five prisons across Lagos State.

Of the total of 9,044 inmates in the prisons in Lagos State as of March, 422 are from Ogun State. Oyo State came second with 359 of its indigenes in prisons in Lagos. Lagos itself has 276 of its indigenes in custody, while Osun State came next with 208 indigenes.

It identified Eti-Osa as the part of Lagos where most of the inmates were arrested for stealing. The report listed Alimosho, Apapa, Lagos Mainland and Amuwo Odofin as the next four most notorious spots for stealing and cultism in Lagos State.

Hmmm. Eko, I hail o. By the way, since Lagosians are now moving over to Ogun, it’s only fair Ogun indigenes move here, too. Ahem.

‘It’s all lais upon lais’

The Federal Government has warned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) not to derail the country’s democracy through its brand of opposition politics. The FG claimed the opposition party and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, were “desperate” for power, as exemplified in what the government called “unpatriotic” utterances lately.

Minister of Information and Culture, Mr. Lai Mohammed, gave the government’s position while speaking with State House Correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday.

In a statement by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, the ex-Vice-President responded, saying, “It is not surprising that such a despicable lie is emanating from Lai Mohammed, President Buhari’s aptly named Minister of Information. Lai Mohammed is so associated with lies that even Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo said on Monday, May 13, 2019 that ‘People like Lai Mohammed, Abba Kyari, Adamu Adamu are usually very well-behaved during the Ramadan. But I’m not even sure that that is true anymore.’”

LOL. See shade. This is how Oga Lai will tell us the world is about to end and we will be fornicating when Bros J lands. By then we will know There Was A Minister.
