‘Is your head correct?’
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is set to begin psyche evaluation of drivers who overload their vehicles with passengers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Assistant Corps Commander, Dutse Alhaji unit command, ACC Okonkwo Chima said this in Abuja at a Road Safety workshop held for drivers at the Dutse Alhaji bus garage by FRSC in collaboration with Greenlight initiative.
FRSC said that drivers who carry overload of passengers especially two in front will be made to pay N10, 000; their vehicles impounded and made to attend a two-week enlightenment programme in their office.
“Now drivers that overload will be booked, the vehicle will be impounded, the penalty for overload is N10, 000 and we will send the person for emotional evaluation test, to be sure the person is emotionally stable and at the end, take the person for two weeks public enlightenment programmes where we will spend time showing you videos of people who have been involved in crashes.”
O Lord, make this psyche evaluation reach Lagos o. Lagos drivers [and passengers, in fact, gbogbo wa] are in dire need of it.
Buhari has risen! [to the Apapa gridlock challenge]
What will Lagos State governor-elect, Babjide Sanwo-Olu do in his first 60 days now? President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the immediate removal of all trucks from the bridges and roads within Apapa within 2 weeks.
“A Presidential directive has been issued for the immediate clearing up of the Apapa gridlock and the restoration of law and order to Apapa and its environs within 2 weeks,” the Presidency tweeted.
“The directive mandates the immediate removal of all trucks from the bridges and roads within Apapa and all adjoining streets leading into the Apapa axis,” it added. The directive followed an emergency meeting convened by Buhari and chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on the 25th of April, 2019.
Ehen, this is the Next Level we’ve been asking for! It’s like, from now on, we’ll be sending Presido to Mecca instead of London.
PDP to Tinubu: No dey use us catch cruise
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has cautioned the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, against using the opposition party to boost his political image. The PDP accused the former Lagos State Governor of resorting to hurling insults at it to get political relevance, ostensibly for his selfish interest.
“It is atrocious that at the time other leaders are in the Holy Land offering prayers and supplications for our nation, Asiwaju Tinubu is in Mecca for photo-ops, playing dirty politics and hurling insults at other Nigerians just to curry relevance before President Buhari,” the party said in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan.
The party noted that nothing but sheer hypocrisy would push Tinubu to engage in unholy praise of a failed administration in a desperation to avert the purported threats by certain agents of the Buhari Presidency to expose him.
LOL. Truth is, PDP sef are guilty of what they accuse Tinubu of doing. Anyway sha, 2023 is judgment day.
Keep calm, nothing dey sele, NFF tells Nigerians
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) believes the forthcoming African Nations Cup in Egypt will be safe for the participants despite the recent terrorist attacks in the host country. The federation assured Nigerians it had been in constant touch with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on the security arrangements for the teams ahead of the competition.
“I want to assure Nigerians that the federation would monitor the situation in Egypt and make due consultations before making any pronouncement. The safety of our players is important to the NFF,” he said. According to reports, an explosion apparently targeting a bus filled with tourists near the pyramids of Giza in Egypt wounded at least 14 people on Sunday.
Abeg o, make una confirm. The only blast we want na blast of “Goal!” Fair play biko, no rough play.
The result for hard work is a vibrator
A Spanish squash championship has been branded sexist for awarding female players with a vibrator, two hair removal kits and an electric foot file. The male winners of the Asturias championship were given trophies while the four female winners were given products from Durex, Veet and Scholl alongside their trophies.
Winner Elisabet Sado, who was given the vibrator, told the BBC: “We were very surprised, very shocked. We think it’s very sexist. We wanted to explain to everybody because we think… there’s a lot of discrimination [against women in sport] and things have to change”.
The club has been forced to apologise after the women sent the prizes and a letter of complaint to the local squash federation. In its apology, the president, Nacho Manzano, claimed, “We feel terribly ashamed by what’s happened and we understand the gifts were not the appropriate ones but it was never our intention to offend anyone.”
Mtcheew. I guess the intention was to excite ba? Reminds me of that idiot that asked if Ada Hegerberg could twerk. Most men steady falling hand.
