No do pass your height: NANS asks Buhari to caution Oshiomhole

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on Thursday staged a protest at the national secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), asking President Muhammadu Buhari to caution the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, over his alleged plan to impose candidates as presiding officers of the Ninth National Assembly.

The student body also asked the APC to convene a National Executive Council meeting to discuss the issue.

Submitting an eight-paragraph protest letter, NANS Senate President, Gambo Mohammed, said students were interested in politics because human beings are political animals and the 2019 general elections suggested that youths represented a greater percentage of registered voters in the country.

Mtcheew. Youths of nowadays don’t know their place. Instead of them to jejely remain lazy, they are disturbing our Presido and Dictator Oshiomhole. BBN should start biko, that will keep these youths occupied.

‘Buhari no reach cut-off mark’

Few days before his inauguration for a second term in office, Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) and Transparency International (TI) said President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption campaign has yielded little result.

Demanding an urgent intervention as the new cabinet is being anticipated at a press conference in Abuja, the chair, Transparency International Nigeria and Executive Director, CISLAC, Auwal Musa Rafsanjani said Buhari’s government has not delivered on anti-corruption commitments made to Nigerians and to the international community.

“Having observed the disturbing trends, events and occurrences in our dear nation; noting the responses from government, groups and different stakeholders, Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre and Transparency International states with concern that corruption remains pervasive in Nigeria,” Rafsanjani said.

LOL. But Nigerians still gave him second term, didn’t they? Finally, we are a country full of intelligent olodos.

Police IG to double his hustle

Shortly after his confirmation as the Inspector-General of Police by the Police Council chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Mohammed Adamu has said his major task was to re-strategise and restructure police operations in the country with a view to achieving quality policing.

“We have to look at our strategy and re-strategise and also look at our personnel to re-organise the way our system is structured, identify the right personnel in the right places to have them do the job,” he said.

“I think the security agencies within the country are capable of dealing with the situation. What we need to do is just to re-strategise and then face the criminals squarely.”

Yes o. Talk your talk man. But sha walk it too. Naija don too scam us.

In Iran, there is a crime called yoga

Thirty people taking part in a yoga session have been arrested during a private class in Iran, reports suggest, causing a buzz across the country’s social media. They were detained at a private residence in the northern city of Gorgan, where they were apparently taking part in a mixed class.

Local justice department official Massoud Soleimani said the instructor, who was also arrested, had no licence to run the class and had advertised the event on Instagram. He also said that those taking part were wearing “inappropriate outfits” and had “behaved inappropriately”.

While there have been public gatherings of yoga fans in the country over the past few years, “underground” and “unIslamic” classes, which are promoted across social media, are frowned upon. While revealing the arrests, Mr. Soleimani also criticised the “lack of surveillance of activities” on social media in the country.

SMH. It’s really scary how, all over the world, religious beliefs are used to oppress and control the populace. Wetin person go do wey custodians of Allah and God no go frown at?
