Greater Lagos: Oya, get ready to use your broom
Wife of the incoming Lagos State governor, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has said residents should not be surprised if they find her cleaning gutters, sweeping streets after her husband, Babajide, has been inaugurated as governor.
“We are going to diagnose the society, challenges and take COWLSO to the next level. Don’t be surprised if you see your first-lady clean the gutters and sweeping the streets. We’re going to do it together,” she said.

Atiku addressess the Leaders of Tomorrow
Atiku, according to a statement by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, asked them to note that they are the future of Nigeria as they celebrate the Children’s Day across the country and around the world.
“No matter how tough and trying the situation in the country may appear today, Nigerian children must believe that things can and will get better,” Atiku said. “This conviction will help them see in themselves the solutions to the multiple challenges our country faces. It will strengthen them not to turn their backs on their country at a time when she needs them most, no matter how rosy life may appear in other shores.”
Mtcheew. Abeg, make una leave these children make them enjoy their bouncing castles in peace. Abi na them dey vote incompetent leaders?
Boko Haram: Only lies, nothing but lies
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, says it’s difficult to say exactly if Boko Haram will ever be eradicated in Nigeria. Shehu, who was a guest on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily programme, said this in Abuja on Monday.
He, however, said the President Muhammadu Buhari administration should be praised for reducing the insurgents’ attacks against the country considerably. It may be recalled that the Federal Government had, in 2016, claimed to have defeated Boko Haram.
“The point we are making is that the attacks…are still a far cry from the enormity of those attacks we have seen in the past,” Shehu said. “They have been greatly minimised and they are being pushed farther away from the national population.”
Mtcheew. No be today una dey lie. At least, Oga Lai-nus is mentoring competent protégés.
With Love & Dollars, From Accra
Academic City College, a private university in Accra, Ghana, has offered scholarship worth $40,000 to Ekene Franklin Ezeunala, the candidate who scored 347 – the highest score – in the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The College Senior Admissions Manager (Nigeria), Mrs Ogechi Ekpe, said on the sidelines of a workshop organised by the institution for schools and parents at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, at the weekend that the scholarship would cover tuition and boarding for the duration of his programme at the university.
“We have a full scholarship for Ekene. He was supposed to be here today (Friday) but we did not talk about the scholarship today because he was not here. We were to present a scholarship of $40,000 to the boy from year one till he graduates,” she said.
When asked how Ekene would be informed about the scholarship since he was not at the event, Mrs Ekpe said: “We have to go there and see if we can either take him to Ghana or get our President to come again and give him the scholarship. The scholarship is for real. It is called the Presidential Scholarship so the school pays everything including the hostel fees.”
LOL. These ones are correct sharp shooters o!! If I were Ekene, I would accept the offer. Next year, antelope fit swallow the money wey JAMB wan use organise the exams. Ekene, be wise.
Ethiopia disobeys the Tenth Commandment
“We sincerely regret any confusion and misunderstanding this incident might have caused,” the statement said. Somalia had been completely erased from the map, but the self-declared territory of Somaliland – which is not internationally recognised – was shown. The neighbours have long been rivals, fighting border wars in the past.
The map has caused an uproar on social media, with Somalis saying it reveals a wider plan by Ethiopia to annex their country. Others hit back, with their own version of a map of Africa, incorporating Ethiopia into Somalia.
LOL. Na so e dey start. Next thing na to send them one small missile.
Prophetic squabbles: Ghana wan flex with Nigeria again
Footballghana.com reports that Bonsam believes T.B. Joshua has absolutely no power to help Ghana win the trophy, which has eluded the country for 37 years.
“We’ll not go for any help from T.B. Joshua today nor tomorrow when Ayittey Power went to him for spiritual help to enable him to beat Bukom Banku in that boxing bout, what happened, was Ayittey Powers not beaten mercilessly?” Kweku Bonsam said. “He doesn’t have any power. lf he has any he should help his own country Nigeria to win the trophy.”
Chai. World people. Una don sha turn God to Octopus Paul. By the way, with the way our national teams like to pray, I’m surprised God hasn’t dashed us one World Cup or Ballon d’Or—are you sure we don’t serve an Ojoro God?
