‘Sanwo-Olu should dey his dey, let me dey my dey’

The outgoing governor of Lagos State Akinwunmi Ambode explained why he would be absent at the inauguration ceremony of the incoming governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos. Ambode, who congratulated and handed over to his successor- Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday, said the new governor deserves to enjoy his historic day without sharing the glory.

“The formal inauguration should have Mr. Sanwo-Olu as the star of the day. I don’t think that glory should be shared with him by my presence,” Ambode said in a statement by his media aide Habib Aruna.

“I have already formally handed over reins of power in the state to the new governor in a most cordial and convivial ceremony at the State House yesterday.”

LOL. I thought it’s only God’s glory that can’t be shared? Maybe what Oga Ambode meant is that he didn’t want to partake in the glory of a “drug addict”. Ahem.

The things Buhari CAN’t do

The National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Supo Ayokunle, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to make Nigeria a glorious nation that its citizens would want to live in his second term.

Ayokunle, who said this during a meeting with the Christian Press Association of Nigeria in Lagos, noted that the President must make a deliberate effort to make life easy for the people.

According to him, the Federal Government needed to provide employment for youths in order to curb kidnapping and other violent acts. He said, “Since INEC declared the President winner in the last election and as he is coming back to be the President of the country, we want him to do things 100 times better than what he has done in his first tenure”.

SMH. If we are not glorious in first term, na second term him wan turn water to wine? I laugh in Hebrew.

Real-life Endgame: Test and see that the gods are good

Worried by reported cases of attack on farmlands and travellers, and kidnapping in the South-West region of the country, hunters in South-West on Tuesday threatened reprisals if the aggressive acts continued.

Dr. Nureni Ajijola-Anabi, the coordinator of hunters in the South-West, who also doubles as the president, Soludero Hunters Association, gave the warning in an interview with reporters.

He said, “We have been helping to curb criminal activities in Nigeria, particularly in the South-West… I want to tell you we have charms that can demobilise armoured tanks and rifles of all kinds. Their weapons will just not work. When invited, we can also give the soldiers some protection that would not make them vulnerable to attacks.”

LOL. Federal government should listen to these hunters biko. God + Ogun + Amadioha + other deities: it will be like upgraded Avengers.

Playing shop with an electronic time bomb

On Tuesday Chinese artist, Guo O Dong’s creation “The Persistence of Chaos” rocked the art world, selling for more than $1.3 million in a New York online auction.

“The Persistence of Chaos” is a 2008 10-inch Netbook, running Microsoft’s now-outdated Windows XP and loaded with the computing world’s equivalents of the most deadly infectious diseases: “I LOVE YOU” from 2000, “Sobig” of 2003, “MyDoom” (2004), “DarkTequila” (2013), “BlackEnergy” (2015), and the most notorious of all, the “WannaCry” ransomware from two years ago.

The computer, viewed via an online video stream, is harmless in its auction state — turned on, but not connected to any network or the internet. The auction site says it is “airgapped” — its wireless and internet connections physically and electronically plugged. The buyer was not identified.

SMH. This is how trouble will be enjoying her sleep and yanga will choose to interrupt. Thank God Naija internet no stable sef.

No calm in sight for the Chelsea ‘storm’

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri appeared visibly frustrated as he walked out of training on the eve of the Europa League final against Arsenal in Azerbaijan. The Italian, linked with a move away from the club, threw and then kicked his cap at the Baku Olympic Stadium.

Striker Gonzalo Higuain and defender David Luiz earlier exchanged words after a confrontation.

Chelsea said Sarri’s reaction was “not related to any of his players”. They said the Italian was unhappy “due to not being able to practise set-plays” during training as the session remained open to the media.

Chai. The Baba doing Chelsea this thing should stop o. This is how match will want to start tonight and Hazard will insist on playing as a goalkeeper.
