A word is enough for a governor

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has promised that his administration will be fair to all residents of the state, irrespective of their religion, tribe or party affiliation. The governor said this at a Special Inauguration Thanksgiving Service held for him and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, at the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Lagos.

Speaking, Sanwo-Olu said his administration had no choice but to serve the people and make life worth living for everyone.

“We want to assure you that we will not serve only the party, but all the residents of the state,” he said. “We said it at the inauguration, our government will be for all. We will serve and be a blessing to you.”

LOL. Oga Sanwo-Olu should take it easy o. It is this not to ‘serve only the party’ that put his predecessor in wahala. I have said my own o.

Buhari receives SARS report card

President Muhammadu Buhari has received the report of the presidential panel on the Reform of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) months after it was constituted.

“Today, I received the Report of the Presidential Panel on the Reform of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS),” Buhari tweeted. “We constituted the Panel as a result of public outcry and various media reports on allegations of human rights violations perpetrated by officers and men of SARS.”

The panel, inaugurated by the National Human Rights Commission after a presidential directive, was set-up to look into the activities of the SARS and make recommendations for its reform. The security outfit has been widely accused of highhandedness and extra-judicial killings.

‘No issues with Buhari attending OIC meeting’

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council has said those calling for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari for attending a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in Saudi Arabia, are inviting anarchy into the country.

The group’s President-General, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said this in a statement on Sunday in Abakaliki. The group said no group had powers to attack Buhari for merely exercising his right to freedom of association.

“The leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide is amazed by the call for President Buhari’s resignation by an Igbo platform and the CAN, for attending the OIC meeting in Saudi Arabia,” the statement read. “It is barbaric for anyone to call for President Buhari’s resignation using Igbo platform, as such rhetoric is capable of plunging the nation into a religious war that will consume the Igbos and other minority groups living in the North.”

Mtcheew. If Buhari wasn’t going to this meeting in Nigeria’s name, I’d say e no concern us. But he is, isn’t he? Buhari and these youth council people should go and take several seats.

The Anthony Joshua Vs Andy Ruiz scam

Anthony Joshua had to restrain his ‘upset’ father, Robert Joshua, as he tried to confront promoter Eddie Hearn following his son’s shock defeat to Andy Ruiz. After the fight Joshua’s father Robert made a beeline for Hearn in the ring, and had to be held back by Joshua at Madison Square Garden in New York. The exchange according to dailymail.co.uk was caught on camera in the background as Ruiz was being interviewed in the ring following his unexpected seventh-round win.

It is unclear why Robert was frustrated, but Hearn has come in for criticism from some quarters over his handling of Joshua’s career and an inability to book a fight with the heavyweight’s two big boys – Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury.

Eventually, Joshua managed to calm his father down and led him away from the confrontation and he later admitted, “My dad’s upset, which is a natural reaction. Everyone’s in good spirits; losing isn’t a good night but it’s something we can learn from.”

Mtcheew. Joshua papa for join beat him son sef, the boy really fall our balls. Mtcheew.
