Abacha returns…in cash
The money was a part of more than a $300 million stash the Jersey State government said on its website was “laundered through the US banking system by people including President Abacha’s son Mohammed” during the military regime of General Sani Abacha.
“On Friday 31 May 2019 US$267,751,992.02 was paid into the Civil Asset Recovery Fund,” Jersey State said. “This fund is managed by the Minister for Treasury and Resources in accordance with the Civil Asset Recovery (International Co-operation) (Jersey) Law 2007, from assets that were previously held by Doraville Properties Corporation.” A ‘kleptocracy’ initiative launched by the United States Justice Department under Barack Obama initiative in 2014 collected a $500 million once held by the former Nigerian dictator and his cronies.
On behalf of lazy Nigerian youths, that money should be returned and shared biko. My ancestors blood dey inside that money.
Pillow talk and pillow fights
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has supported recent concerns raised by the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha, on insecurity and other challenges facing the country. Obasanjo, however, advised her to engage her husband in what he called “pillow talk” on the state of the nation.
He said, “We have to put all things on the table to address these problems. Mind you, we have to be sincere and genuine with ourselves. It is nice that the President’s wife is talking; I think she did well, and maybe she should also have a pillow talk with the President”.
LOL. Wetin concern OBJ with another couple pillow talk na? If he’s so sure pillow talk is what our presido needs, he should go ahead and… Please no further comment.
The gospel lie according to Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari has praised Nigerians over the “conduct of peaceful elections” this year. He said this was in spite of what he called “doomsday predictions of social disharmony” that there might be no elections at all. His position was contained in a message to mark today’s Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
A statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu, quoted the President as saying, “Before the 2019 General Elections, prophets of doom didn’t give the country a chance to conduct peaceful elections. Despite these fears, the country overcame its political challenges.
“For abandoning their business in order to vote, the voters had demonstrated great patriotism in coming out to exercise their civic duty. Let me use this opportunity once again to reassure all Nigerians that your sacrifices in voting for me won’t be in vain. I will ensure the ordinary voters feel the positive impact of government.”
Peaceful elections kwa? I laugh in Rivers State.
‘No let Kayan Mata off your destiny’
Speaking on the effects of using such products, Reverend Joshua Aribisala of the Tabernacle of Glory Church, warned users that there was always a price for using such products. “I have heard so much about this Kayan Mata, so many married women in my church have come to ask me if using it tampers with their faith,” he said.
“An example is one blue eye bead that they claim gives protection, the blue eye bead is an amulet that was forged by calling on spirits to grant the user protection. However, the devil does not give without taking, the originator of this amulet had to give a sacrifice to the spirits she invoked. These things definitely have spiritual implications that may not manifest until much later in the user’s life.”
Chai. My perpetual singlehood will not let me be great and see what the reverend saw in the drug. I’m not crying biko.
An Anthony Joshua-defender surfaces
Anthony Joshua was most likely concussed during his shocking world title loss to Andy Ruiz Jr on Saturday in New York. That’s according to Joshua’s former Team GB amateur stable-mate Daniel Dubois.
“I know AJ from our time in Sheffield and it isn’t nice to see the criticism he’s getting,” he said. “It is one defeat and it is crazy that he is being told he is finished. Most boxers can only dream of what he has achieved as an amateur and professional.”
“Apart from when he knocked Ruiz Jr down, nothing seemed to go right whatever he tried in the ring. He didn’t seem there,” Dubois added.
Mtcheew. Whether concussion or confusion, AJ disappoint us like Amaka. He deserves all the public roasting.
