The four-year politician

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2019 elections in Lagos State, Mr Jimi Agbaje, has not dumped the party, his media aide, Felix Oboagwina, has said.

Oboagwina said that social media posts that Agbaje had left the PDP to join the All Progressives Congress(APC) were untrue. He said that Agbaje was still in PDP and that there was no way he could have joined the APC on social media.

“There is nothing like that, nothing like that at all. He is still in PDP; he has not defected,” Oboagwina said. “How can people say he has defected on social media? He is too big for that; he is in PDP.”

‘Leave Okorocha and face your life’

The governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in Imo State, Uche Nwosu, has advised the state governor, Emeka Ihedioha, to stop chasing shadows and start working on his plans for the state.

Nwosu, who was Ihedioha’s closest rival during the last governorship election said that the actions of the governor since he was sworn in showed that he was not prepared for leadership.

“The people of Imo State did not vote for him to start chasing shadows. For the time he will stay as the governor, he should unfold his plans and programmes for the people. No one is interested in excuses. What the people want is performance and nothing less,” Nwosu said. “The people want a concrete statement on what the programmes of the government are, what the government intends to do and how it would deliver dividends of democracy to them and not embarking on a mission to pull down Rochas Okorocha.”

Abi o. I know even understand why Ihedioha just dey tackle Okorocha left, right and center. As if Okorocha no get enough wahala on him head.

Of pride and [non]Flying Eagles

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles on Tuesday staged a protest over their unpaid match bonuses and allowances at the U-20 World Cup in Poland. The Paul Aigbogun side crashed out of the tournament following their 2-1 loss to Senegal in the round of 16 at the Lodz stadium on Monday.

It was gathered after the game that the team were scheduled to travel back to Nigeria on Tuesday but refused to leave their hotel rooms until their outstanding bonuses were paid. A player, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “We did not get a dime from the NFF and only played the games for pride.

“We were promised our bonuses but some of the players felt we might not get it, hence the protest.”

“I had no panic attack,” the 29-year-old said in video posted online.

“I have to take my loss like a man. No blaming anyone or anything. I am the one who went in there to perform and my performance did not go to plan. My game plan didn’t go to plan.”
