Trainee pilot makes emergency landing on first lesson after instructor faints (Metro)

A student pilot had to make a dramatic emergency landing on his first flying lesson after his instructor passed out in the middle of the flight.

Max Sylvester landed at Jandakot Airport, Western Australia, after making several passes over the runway.

Mr Sylvester found himself at the controls only an hour into his lesson on Saturday afternoon, after the pilot fell unconscious over his shoulder.

After calling air traffic control, he spent 62 minutes being guided through the landing process for the two-seater Cessna plane by the controller. Read more
