Troops, police repel Boko Haram attack in Borno (Nation)

The Nigerian Army and Police on Thursday repelled an attack by Boko-Haram insurgents who attempted to invade Jakana town in Kaga local government area of Borno.

The insurgents armed with sophisticated weapons, stormed the town at 5:30 p.m.

Jakana is about 40km from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Div, Maiduguri, Brig-Gen Bulama Biu, who confirmed the incident, said the attack was promptly repelled. Read more
