TTSWG unveils IMC to elevate Nigeria’s tech talent

The Telecommunication and Technology Sustainability Working Group (TTSWG) has made a groundbreaking announcement today with the launch of the Innovation Makers’ Challenge (IMC), a transformative initiative poised to empower and elevate the next generation of tech innovators in Nigeria.

According to a statement, the initiative aims to usher in a new era of technological advancement and creativity in Nigeria’s rapidly growing technology and telecommunications sectors.

The IMC is set to be a multi-faceted event that will unfold over the coming months, encompassing a talent discovery competition, an intensive boot camp, and a grand exhibition and conference. Scheduled for Thursday, 9th November 2023, the IMC’s grand finale will take place at the prestigious *Eko Convention Centre* in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Young innovators, aged between 18 and 35, are enthusiastically invited to participate in the Innovators Challenge. They can showcase their original, technology-driven ideas and products by visiting the official IMC website at www.ttswg-imc.com/apply. Submissions should include a 90-second video pitch of their innovation and responses to accompanying questions. The submission window is open from September 11th to October 16th.

From the pool of entries, 20 finalists will be selected to participate in the intensive Innovators Boot Camp. Here, they will receive invaluable guidance, mentorship, and feedback from industry experts with a proven track record in technology and telecommunications. The exceptional participants will subsequently have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a panel of esteemed judges during the Innovators Conference, vying for a cash prize of N2,000,000 for the winner, N1,000,000 for the first runner-up, and N500,000 for the second runner-up.

Beyond the competition, the finalists will be granted the privilege of showcasing their innovations at the grand event, allowing them to pitch their ideas to potential venture capitalists and investors. Additionally, they will have the chance to network with professionals and industry experts from across Nigeria and beyond.

Bekeme Olowola, Lead Consultant at TTSWG Secretariat, expressed the organisation’s vision, stating, “Nigeria is brimming with talent that requires nurturing and development to contribute significantly to the nation’s economic growth.
