Operatives of the Lagos State Police command yesterday exhumed four corpses who were killed and dumped in a septic tank in Ikorodu area of Lagos state.

Already three suspects have been arrested in connection with the killings.

The deceased, Afeez Ganiu (25), and his driver were said to have brought truckload of charcoals to Lagos from Kwara State when he was attacked with a plank by the revenue collector. Read more

The Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Imo State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old single mother, Nneka Donatus, who allegedly sold her baby girl a day after putting to bed.

Also arrested was a level 12 civil servant at the state Ministry of Women Affairs, Ujunwa Udechukwu, 40; and Nneoma Onwusereaka, 37; who allegedly conspired with the single mother to sell the baby to a couple. Read more

The Peoples Democratic Party on Thursday asked the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, to withdraw as a member of the five-man panel of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal.

In a petition received in the Court of Appeal’s President’s office in Abuja, on Thursday, the party alleged that as the chairman of the five-man panel, Bulkachuwa would likely be biased in the handling of the tribunal’s proceedings because of her ties to family members belonging to the All Progressives Congress.
