Ukraine tie: Rohr drops Ndidi for Esiti (Punch)

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has invited PAOK’s Anderson Esiti to replace Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi ahead of the Super Eagles’ friendly game with Ukraine on September 10.

It was learnt that the Greek side’s midfielder was invited to the 24-man team after Ndidi sustained an injury at his club side.

Ndidi picked up a hamstring injury in training last week and also missed Leicester City’s 2-1 victory over Sheffield United on Saturday.

Esiti, who last played for Nigeria in a 2018 World Cup qualifier game against Zambia in Ndola, moved from KAA Gent to PAOK before the start of the new season. Read more
