Unai Emery says he substituted Dani Ceballos against Watford because he wanted to inject fresh impetus into his fading Arsenal side on a ‘very, very hot’ day.

The Gunners threw away a two-goal lead at Vicarage Road on Sunday and were lucky to escape with a point as the hosts racked up an astonishing 31 efforts on the Arsenal goal; the Gunners managed just seven in response.

Ceballos, though, was again one of few bright sparks and successfully completed 42 passes – the most of any Arsenal player at the time – before being replaced by Joe Willock in the 60th minute. Read more
