Arsenal boss Unai Emery is hopeful that Alexandre Lacazette will be available for the side’s Premier League opener against Newcastle.
Lacazette, 28, limped off with an ankle injury in Arsenal’s defeat to Lyon at the Emirates Cup and subsequently missed the Gunners’ friendly loss to Barcelona at the Nou Camp on Sunday night.
Though Lacazette was pictured wearing a protective boot over his ankle following the clash with Lyon, it appears he could be line to feature at St James’ Park this weekend.
Emery revealed that Arsenal’s medical staff were ‘optimistic’ over Lacazette’s fitness and did not rule out the French striker making an appearance against the Magpies. Read more
