University Press PLC (UPPLC) has confirmed the appointment of HRM (Dr) Josephine A. Diete-Spiff and Joseph B. Daudu (SAN) as Independent Non-Executive Directors on its Board.
The publishing giant based in Ibadan, Oyo State, made the confirmation at its last Annual General Meeting (AGM) held 23rd September 2021.
Founded in 1949 under the name of Oxford University Press Nigeria, University Press Plc has grown to become one of the oldest, most experienced and the Nation’s Foremost Publishers of materials for educational and for general reading. At incorporation as a public liability company in 1978,the Company’s name was changed to University Press Limited with an authorised share capital of 8,000,000 Ordinary shares of 50k each. Quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on 14th August 1978, UPPLC has, on two occasions, won the prestigious Stock Exchange Merit Award in the service sector of quoted companies. It has also won, for two consecutive years, 1984 and 1985, the Concord Prize for Excellence in Academic Publishing.
HRM Dr. Josephine A. Diete-Spiff is the Chief Executive officer (CEO), Four Time Product Nigeria Ltd, Chairperson/ Proprietress Titare Star Royal Academy, Legal Secretary and Director, BZB Group Nigeria Ltd, Past Chairperson and CEO, Titare Micro Finance Bank Ltd all in Port Harcourt.
HRM Dr. Josephine A. Diete-Spiff has a Doctoral Degree in Business Administration, Walden University, U.S.A 2015. Masters in Business Administration, University of Liverpool, United Kingdom 2012. Bachelor of Laws, Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), International Bar Association (IBA).
HRM Dr. Josephine A. Diete-Spiff is an author with a few published works under her belt and has written playlets for NTA, Benin City Edo state, Nigeria.
HRM Dr. Josephine A. Diete-Spiff is the Queen of Twon Brass Kingdom in Bayelsa state and is happily married with three (3) children.
Her appointment to the Board takes effect from the 22nd September 2021.
Joseph B. Daudu, SAN is a senior practicing lawyer and member of the Nigerian Bar Association. Member of the National Executive Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association. Public speaker and lecturer, with offices in Abuja, Kaduna and Zaria.
A graduate of Law from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He started his Legal career with BOMA OBUOFIROBO and Co in Port Harcourt and is currently Principal Partner, J. B. Daudu and Co, Zaria, Kaduna and Abuja. He was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
Joseph B. Daudu was a secretary, NBA, Zaria branch (1983 – 1985). Chairman, Zaria branch, NBA (1987 – 1990). President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Chairman Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee of the Body of Benchers (2012 – 2018). In 2010, Joseph B. Daudu, SAN was appointed Life Bencher Hon. Body of Benchers. He is also the Founder and Coordinator of the Rule of Law Development Foundation.His appointment to the Board of Directors of UPPlc will take effect from 12th September, 2021.
