The authorities of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Anambra State, have commenced an investigation into a scuffle involving a lecturer in the Department of Theatre Arts of the institution and a student over a filmed social media content.

A spokesman of the school, Njelita Louis, said the management of the institution led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu, would impose the appropriate sanction on any of the parties found culpable.

In viral videos, a third-year student in the Department of History and International Studies, Goddy Precious, was seen around the corridors dancing before her phone, capturing a TikTok moment when the lecturer, Dr. Chukwudi Okoye, walked past her from behind. Read more 

Kaduna community protests incessant bandit attacks (DailyTrust)

Residents of Ungwan Ate in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State took to the streets on Wednesday to protest the repeated attacks and kidnappings plaguing their community and surrounding villages.

The protesters, in their numbers, blocked the Ungwan Ateโ€“Ungwan Mission road along Kaduna-Kachia highway, calling on the Kaduna State Government and security agencies to take swift action to protect their lives and properties.

Missing 76-year-old man found dead in Ogun forest (Punch)

The police in Ogun State says it has recovered the corpse of 76-year-old Sikiru Olatunji, who was declared missing some days ago, in a forest in the Yewa North Local Government Area of the state.

The commandโ€™s Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

Nigeriaโ€™s national grid has suffered another setback, leaving parts of the country in total blackout.
