US-Africa Business Centre names Nigerian businessman, Benedict Peters to its Advisory Board

The truism “honour is given to whom it is due” came to bear recently when the US Chamber of Commerce announced the appointment of Chairman and CEO of Aiteo Group, Benedict Peters, to serve on the Board of Advisors for the US-Africa Business Centre.

According to a statement by Aiteo Group, the appointment comes in recognition of his prominent track-record in propelling entrepreneurship and business innovation across the continent, a feat that works in tandem with the purpose of the U.S. Africa Business Centre.

Welcoming Mr Peters to the Board of Advisors, Chairman of the US-Africa Business Centre, Scott Eisner said: “We value and appreciate the insights from companies such as yours as they not only benefit the centre but also play a pivotal role in strengthening the ties between the United States and countries throughout Africa.

“As a man that has been actively creating jobs and encouraging entrepreneurship all around Africa, Mr Peters hones the Centre’s mission which is ‘to build lasting prosperity for Africans and Americans through job creation and entrepreneurial spirit’.

The appointment will see him join CEOs of Fortune 500 companies with a strong influence in Africa such as Chevron, IBM, Caterpillar and Microsoft among others. It also augments the international recognition received by the Chairman and Founder of Aiteo in recent times.

In March 2019, he was appointed to the American Committee on the Present Danger with a view to help defend America through public education and advocacy against the full array of conventional and non-conventional dangers posed by the People’s Republic of China. Mr Peters was also named African Icon of the Year by the Foreign Investment Network (FIN) in January 2019, in London, as recognition of his achievements in the oil & gas industry. Furthermore, in 2018, the prestigious Forbes International awarded Africa’s Oil & Gas Leader of the Year for his outstanding contribution to the progress of the continental oil & gas sector.

The Africa’s oil mogul and billionaire is reputed to have other financially more profitable ventures in the mining and agricultural sectors which focus on serving the needs of communities across the African continent.

Peters has contributed to over 20,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities across the continent and his investments focus on developing resources to provide a dependable foundation for economic growth and sustainable development, thereby supporting the pillars of African economies.
