US Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders has heart attack (Metro)

Bernie Sanders, one of the Democratic presidential candidates, has suffered a heart attack.

The 78-year-old was campaigning when he experienced chest discomfort and was taken to hospital.

Medics there confirmed he had a heart attack, his campaign team has said.

The senator had surgery where doctors in Las Vegas inserted two stents to open up a blocked artery in his heart.

The attack happened on Tuesday but was confirmed after he was released from hospital yesterday. Read more
