Boko Haram jihadists have killed two people in an attack on a village in northeast Nigeria near the town of Chibok, residents and a militia official told AFP Tuesday. The jihadists believed to be loyal to Boko Haram factional leader Abubakar Shekau, late Monday raided Mifah, seven kilometres from Chibok, where militants abducted more than 200 schoolgirls in 2014. The Nigerian Army says it has commenced Operation Crocodile Smile III exercise across the states of the Niger Delta to stem the tide of pipeline vandalism in the region. The man wanted the woman to show him her ID, but police verified she had a valid access card for the pool. He was later dubbed #IDAdam and on Friday lost his job. Police were called in North Carolina Wednesday after a white man confronted a black woman about using a neighborhood swimming pool, prompting allegations of racial profiling and a backlash on social media. Records of man on death row seeking appeal missing (Punch)

A man on death row, Ganiyu Onabanjo, seeking to appeal his conviction has discovered that the records of his case have gone missing. Onabanjo’s case was taken over by the Centre for Justice, Mercy and Reconciliation, which sought to file appeal against his conviction. The convict was arrested on allegation of armed robbery on June 9, 2006 and subsequently sentenced to death on October 9, 2009 by a Lagos High Court. Read more
