Why Buhari backed Oshiomhole for APC Chair (Independent)

Details emerged on Thursday on what transpired at the meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and governors elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Tuesday night.

The president at the meeting threw his weight behind the candidature of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, former Edo State governor, for the position of national chairman of APC.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a member of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) said the president’s position has nothing to do with the position of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, former governor of Lagos State and head of the party’s reconciliation team who is hell-bent on ensuring that Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the incumbent national chairman, is not returned for another term.
