Why FG N10,000 loans may be campaign gimmick (Independent)

It is not new for sitting governments to intensify and amplify their people driven projects when an election year approaches. In fact, it is a norm in this part of the world. Just recently, Ekiti workers got stipends from monies owed them just days before the gubernatorial election.

Months to the general elections, the Federal Government is now doling out monies to traders and young Nigerians in form of a loan. The scheme is called ‘Trader Moni’ and it is part of the numerous schemes created by the government to distribute the recovered ‘Abacha loot’ to needy Nigerians. Read more
