Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo confirms Diogo Jota’s Liverpool transfer

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed Diogo Jota’s transfer to Liverpool and wished him luck, while Ki-Jana Hoever will move to Molineux.

The Portugal international will move to Anfield in a deal worth an initial £40million – although Liverpool are only paying around 10% up front – with a further £5m in add-ons and bonuses. Although treated as a separate deal, the two clubs were also in talks over highly rated young Dutch defender Hoever who moves in the opposite direction for around £9m.

Jota had been left out of Wolves’ squad for their Carabao Cup defeat to Stoke City in mid-week, with Nuno tight-lipped on his future at the time, but he has now confirmed the transfer is happening. (Metro)
