10,210 bags of Indian hemp discovered in Ondo warehouse (Punch)

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency says it has uncovered 10, 210 bags of cannabis sativa concealed in a makeshift warehouse in Ondo state.

NDLEA Head of Public Affairs, Mr Jonah Achema, made this known in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja.

Achema said the cannabis sativa, weighing 132.730 tons, were concealed at the warehouse located in Uteh, a remote community in the state.

According to him, the warehouse which belongs to a man simply referred to as Peter, was located in a very thick forest where all cannabis harvests within the forest are stored for onward distribution to the illicit drug markets. Read more
