The Nigeria Police Force has initiated disciplinary proceedings against 151 senior officers over allegations of misconduct and breaches of professional ethics, in a move aimed at strengthening internal accountability and reinforcing public confidence.

The officers, drawn from various commands and formations nationwide, are currently appearing before the Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC) at the IGP Smart Conference Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja. The hearings, which began on Monday, 14 July, will continue until Friday, 25 July 2025.

The FDC is the internal body tasked with reviewing disciplinary matters involving officers from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and above. Following the review of each case, the committee’s recommendations will be submitted to the Police Service Commission for further action. (TVC)
