The Police in Lagos on Wednesday brought 2 men, Paul Yusuf and Reuben Rimamnde, before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing iron rods.
The defendants are standing trial before Magistrate Mr Lateef Layeni, on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
They pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, ASP Simon Uche, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on April 21, at the premises of the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) located at the Trade Fair complex in Ojo.
He alleged that the defendants conspired to steal 200 lengths of 10mm iron rods, valued at two million Naira, intended for road construction by the company. (Guardian)
