Two sales attendants, Victor Sunday, 38, and Ridwan Akande, 29, alleged to have stolen N2.7 million, property of their employer, on Tuesday, appeared before an Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
The duo are standing trial on two-counts of conspiracy and stealing to which the each pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, ASP Bendict Aigbokhan, told the court that the defendants, committed the offences, sometime this year at No. 35, Egbe- Isolo Road, Ikotun, Lagos.
Aigbokhan said that the defendants and others at large, conspired and stole the sum of N2.7 million which was proceeds, realised from the sale of 50 cartons of fish.
He said the money belonged to one Mrs Lola Ogunmodede, owner of Majekodunmi Fisheries Ltd.
Aigbokhan, said the offences, contravened Sections 287(7) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mrs K. A. Ariyo, granted the defendants N300,000 bail each, and two sureties each in like sum.
She ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and one of them must be a blood relation to the defendant.
Ariyo subsequently adjourned the case until Nov. 20 for mention. (NAN)
