A two-storey building under construction collapsed on Sunday during the decking stage at Craig Street in the Shomolu area of Lagos.

Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries, as workers on-site managed to escape before the structure gave way.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) reported that the collapsed building was one of two under construction at the location.

The incident also affected the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Liberty Parish at No. 5 Craig Street. The buildingโ€™s pillars fell on the church, causing partial damage. Worshippers present at the time escaped unhurt. (Guardian)
