A political group, the Coalition of Registered and Deregistered Parties (CRDP) has resolved to support the aspirations of the Peopleโ€™s Democratic Partyโ€™s (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the governorship candidate in Lagos, Jandor.

The group, in a statement issued by its Chairman, Dr Akinola Badmus, and Secretary, Mrs Abiola Adeyemi, on Monday, said it would work with PDP in Lagos and at the national level to take back the state for the wellbeing of the people.

The coalition, comprising both registered and deregistered political parties, market associations, non-indigenes, religious groups and the, civil society representatives, stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in Lagos had been a disaster.

According to the statement, the group resolved that โ€œIt is high time we joined hands with PDP, both at the national and state levels, to stop the coming disaster about to happen to Nigeria and to stop its continuity in Lagos State.

โ€œTaking back Lagos commonwealth โ€“ what belong to all of us โ€“ from the control of a particular interest and give it back to the people of Lagos, has been our primary focus, but allowing same selfish individual interests extend to the national level will be so disastrous.

โ€œThis is a Lagos based coalition force that determines to rescue the grassroots of Lagos State from the hold of systematic slavery and corrupt leaderships.โ€

The coalition maintained that the incumbent government led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had been investing stateโ€™s monies heavily into what it termed โ€œGovernor Emeritus projectโ€, adding that the council bosses were not spared too, hence there was no noticeable grassroots development in most LGs and LCDAs.

It stressed: โ€œThose who care to confirm can please do. The councils are mandated to procure minimum of 20 campaign vansโ€ฆ.This can also be verified.

โ€œThe vehicles are still being parked in some of the councilโ€™s premises as we speak. We have proves with us. All these at the expense of Lagos taxpayersโ€™ money.โ€

The group alleged that recently, in other to infiltrate the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Lagos Chapter, the state government, through the APC State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, secured N10million, excluding the ones collected earlier and shared among themselves. (Independent)
