Ahead of October 23, 2020, the official cinema release date of Charles Granville’s film, 30 Pieces of Silver, big screen lovers across the country are enthusiastically waiting to soak in the thrills infused in the film, adjudged as “absorbing” by critics.
With a stellar cast comprising Enyinna Nwigwe, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Jide Kosoko, Keppy Ekpenyong, Charles Granville, Collette Nwadike and Deyemi Okanlawon, 30 Pieces of Silver, tells the story of Detective Shola (Nse Ikpe-Etim), who knows it will be a career high to finally pin down the ruthless Chief Boga (Jide Kosoko), a drug lord with a history of evading arrests and a reputation for killing his nemesis.
But her resolve is tested by Martins (Enyinna Nwigwe), her absentee husband’s closest friend who seeks refuge in her home after he is evicted by his landlord.
The director of the film, US-based Robert Peters, who has a string of box office hits under his sleeves, calls the film one of the best in recent times, “This movie, 30 Pieces of Silver, has a different feel from the usual. From the story to the cast and the cinematography, it definitely is one of, if not the best, movie Nollywood has produced in recent times”, he says.
The producer, Charles Granville whose last production, ‘Locked’, was a huge success in the cinemas last year, describes the new work thus: “30 Pieces of Silver is produced as a teachable work of art that parents can use to teach their children about the evil of the world and adults can learn life lessons from it”.
The film will be available in cinemas across major Nigerian cities.
