Nigeria’s confirmed coronavirus infections has risen to 42,208.
This is as a result of an additional 404 cases,according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The NCDC, which made the announcement via its twitter handle Wednesday night, also announced 873 as the total number of deaths from the virus in the country, while it put the number of recoveries at 19,004.
As of July 29, the confirmed coronavirus death toll on the African continent stood at 18,160. There are 871,970 confirmed infections and 523,684 recoveries, according to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.
More than 16.8 million people around the world have been diagnosed with the new coronavirus. Some 9.9 million patients have recovered, and nearly 663,000 have died, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
