Nigeria recorded 443 new COVID-19 cases Friday, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). Nigeria’s confirmed coronavirus infections now stand at 45,687.
The NCDC, which made the announcement via its twitter handle, also announced 936 as the total number of deaths from the virus in the country, while putting the number of recoveries at 32,637.
More than 22,000 people have so far died across Africa from the COVID-19 disease, while over 690,000 have recovered, the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention Friday said that the continent surpassed the one million mark.
Nearly 19.3 million people around the world have been diagnosed with COVID-19, while the global death toll crossed 718,000. More than 11.7 million have recovered, according to data by the Johns Hopkins University.
