We’ve pretty much established the fact that you don’t have to be THE winner to become a star on Big Brother Naija. The BBNaija show has provided a ton of opportunities for participants to excel in their chosen creative and professional fields of endeavour.
Here are 7 housemates from See Gobbe and Double Wahala who did not win the coveted prize but are winning in the creative industry and in business because of their time in the BBNaija house.
1. Bisola Aiyeola – A lot of people might not remember, but before her time in the Big Brother House, Bisola was on MTN Project Fame West Africa in 2008. She even had a lead role in the TV series ‘Life of a Nigerian Couple’ but didn’t become a household name until 2017 when she emerged first runner-up in BBNaija See Gobbe season. Since then, she has starred in a number of films, scored major brand influencer deals and in 2018 won the coveted AMVCA ‘Trail Blazer’ award.
2. Cynthia Nwadiora aka CeeC – Cee-C or King Cee-C, the last woman standing and first runner-up in Double Wahala season. During her time in the house, Cee-C built a large following on social media and has since become a highly sought after brand influencer due to her over 1.3million followers on Instagram.
3. Bamike Olawunmi aka Bambam – The biggest stunt Bambam pulled after leaving the house was selling out 5,000 pieces of her Bam beauty oil in 24hours! She’s currently a brand ambassador for Jumia Nigeria and a budding actress. She was a part of the cast of ‘Queen Moremi’ stage play alongside established actors like Femi Branch and Bimbo Manuel.
4. Ifu Ennada – Before the house, Ifu worked as a TV presenter and producer but her brand has evolved since Big Brother Naija and she has leveraged her popularity to establish a beauty brand called beautIFU Ennada. She’s also got deals and partnered with top brands including; Legend Extra Stout, 7Up, Pepsi, Quickteller and Access Bank to mention a few.
5. Tobi Bakre: Although he did not win, emerging second runner-up was in no way a small feat. He has since clinched some major endorsement deals with brands like Unilever, Amstel Malta and Jumia. He has also taken up some acting gigs and is currently the star of one of Africa Magic’s shows, Hustle.
6. Uriel Oputa: In 2017, Uriel Oputa was an upcoming musician who needed a big platform and felt Big Brother was the next step for her. She was right because, after Big Brother Naija, she scored endorsements from PayPorte, Pedini – Bosch Nigeria, Shapes by Mena, Maggi cube, etc.
7. Tboss: Prior to being a BBNaija See Gobbe housemate in 2017, very little was known about Tboss until she went into the house and emerged the second runner up. Now, she’s a household name and a brand ambassador for 234Bet, House of Lunettes, Instant Pickup as well as a fashion and beauty muse for top designers.
