The trade war is set to take its toll on the American and Chinese economies in 2019. The International Monetary Fund on Tuesday cut its growth forecasts for the United States and China, citing the recent waves of tariffs the world’s top two economies have imposed on each other. Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, have emerged winners of the just-concluded 13th Nigerian Universities Staff Sports Association Games. Police hunt for nanny who stabbed employer to death (Punch)
The police have launched a manhunt for a nanny, Becky Johnson, who allegedly killed her employer, Yemisi Haasz, at her Asokoro, Abuja home, before fleeing with the victim’s property. A man, Paschal Ugwu, has been arrested by the police for posing as an employee of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and defrauding unsuspecting persons. The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Edgal Imohimi, who paraded Ugwu along with other suspects on Monday, said the imposter was nabbed on October 5, 2018, in Ijegun, in the Isheri-Osun area of the state.
