Akwa Ibom governor pledges to pay N30, 000 minimum wage if adopted (Guardian)

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, has assured workers that the state would pay the new minimum wage, as soon as the Federal Government adopts it.

He gave the pledge during an interactive session with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), United Labour and other affiliated unions in the state.

The governor acknowledged the contributions of labour to the implementation of government policies, describing the workforce as the bedrock of development in any nation.
