Ambode orders immediate repair of potholes on Lagos roads (Sun)
Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has ordered immediate repairs of all potholes on roads across the state. The state government which disclosed this yesterday also said work on the Pen Cinema flyover in Agege area is now at 60 percent completion, while the 10-lane Oshodi-International Airport Road is also at over 50 percent completion. He gave an assurance that it would be completed by the end of the year. Read more
Anambra flood victims receive relief materials from FG (Nation)

APC suspends LG party chairman in Ebonyi (Guardian)
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Onitcha Local Government area of Ebonyi, on Saturday suspended its party chairman, Mr Uchenna Agwu, for alleged anti-party activities, indiscipline and insubordination. Adamawa PDP signs MOU to outlaw thuggery, vote buying (Sun)
Adamawa State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, with all its nine senatorial aspirants in the state to outlaw thuggery activity including the use of abusive languages, inciting ethnic or religious narratives and the wielding of knives, machete, and other dangerous weapons during campaigns in the state. Five killed, another injured in Benue village attack (Sun)
Five persons have been killed and another seriously injured after a criminal gang in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State attacked them. Our correspondent gathered from locals that the gunmen, who were riding on motorcycles, invaded Tse Vue village after Ayati settlement in Ukum at about 9 a.m. on Thursday and killed the victims. A delegation of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by its Deputy Leader, Uche Mefor, has met with United Nations (UN) officials over killings of its members in the Southeast zone of Nigeria. The Mefor-led delegation visited the UN headquarters, Geneva, Switzerland on September 14, the same day Biafrans were remembering the victims of the invasion of the home of IPOB leader at Isiama Afaraukwu, Umuahia, Abia State. Cholera kills 61 in Yobe (Sun)
Yobe State government yesterday confirmed 906 fresh cases of cholera with 61 deaths and 50 others still on admission in hospitals across the state. The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Muhammad Kawuwa, stated this in a statement in Damaturu. He said Acute Water Diarrhea (AWD) cases were reported in some parts of the state and later confirmed to be cholera after laboratory tests. Read more
Eight Afghan children killed playing with unexploded mortar shell (Guardian)
Eight children, including four siblings, were killed in Afghanistan when a mortar shell they were playing with exploded, relatives said Saturday, adding to the ever-growing civilian toll in the 17-year war. Another six children were wounded in the blast on Friday, including two who had lost limbs and were in a critical condition in a hospital in the northwestern province of Faryab. Read more

Suspected Killer of Corps Member arrested in Bayelsa (Vanguard)
The Bayelsa State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a notorious cult leader, armed robbery and suspected killer of a Corps member in Obele area of Yenagoa, the state capital sometime in 2016. The suspect, identified as 19 year old Prince Owei aka Big Fela, is an indigene of Ikibiri Community, and resident at St. Peters, Ovom. It was learned that the arrested suspect is the second in command of a notorious cult group known as Iceland and suspected killer of a Corps member in 2016. Read more
