Ambode winds up official duties, to unveil Onikan Stadium (ThisDay)
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode will inaugurate a newly constructed Onikan Stadium, an ultra-modern sports facility with 5,100-seating capacity specifically redesigned in conformity to international standard.
As shown on the manifest of the state government, Ambode will wind up official activities of his administration with the inauguration of the sports facility constructed to house at least 9000 fans during concert and entertainment and that of Lagos Theatre, Badagry on Monday. Read more
Deaths averted as petrol tanker, truck collide on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway (Leadership)
The Ogun Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said loss of lives was averted on Saturday after a tanker loaded with petrol collided with a truck on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. This was made known in a statement by the Corps’ Route Commander, Florence Okpe, in Ota, Ogun. Okpe explained that the accident which occurred at about 2:51a.m, involved four persons with two injured and no death recorded. Read more

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), has endorsed Hymnodia, the first-ever reality TV show created around hymns and worship and wished it many more life impacting seasons in its journey of reigniting the culture of hymn singing in worship.
PFN is the umbrella body of Pentecostal churches in Nigeria, Rev. Dr. Felix Omobude, National President of PFN, in a letter to the organisers, Philosoville Limited, said: “We congratulate you for the giant strides you are making. FRSC urges students, pupils, corps members to exercise discipline on roads (Leadership)
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Akwa Ibom has advised residents, including pupils, students, and corps members to adhere to road traffic rules and regulations to ensure safety and reduce crashes on the highways.
The Sector Commander in the state, Mr Sunday Oghenekaro, gave the advice in auto during the maiden edition of Road Safety Club Day for primary school pupils, students and corps members in the state on Saturday. Read more

Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN elected board members have called for a quick resolution of the crisis sparked by the misappropriation of the IAAF US$135,000 grants.
A meeting called by the Sports Ministry last Thursday opened a can of worms, which left the AFN president Ibrahim Gusau gaping for answers. During the meeting, it was revealed that Gusau collected the money and instead of paying the IAAF, allegedly spent N39m on buying kits for Nigerian athletes at the African Championships in Asaba.
