A support group for Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, Anambra Patriots for Soludo, after their flag-off campaign in support of Governor Soludo, ahead of the November 8 gubernatorial election; in alignment with Independent Electoral Commission INEC guidelines, has continued to distribute aprons to traders.
In their recent visit to Parm-Site Market Ukwuoji, behind Old Government House, Awka, traders received them with great joy.
The aprons distributed to the traders, mostly women, were not only for vote but as well as to support them in their businesses.
The Convener of Anambra Patriots for Soludo and Marketing Director Anambra State Bureau for Public Procurement, PBB, Architect Okey Ezeobi explained that it is part of broader initiative titled ‘Rebrand Anambra with Soludo’, describing him as a transformational leader and a jinx breaker. He stated clearly that they are targeting one million votes for him.
He said: “Women are voluntarily embracing this campaign because they identify with the progress his governance has brought. Soludo is turning Anambra State into a livable destination. People are coming to live, work and invest.”
He concluded by commending Soludo for his efforts on security issues which have reduced crime in the state.
On his part, the Chairman of the support group, Chief Ejiamatu Enekwechi had this to say: “Women cast the highest number of votes in Nigeria, that is why we are reaching them first. These aprons are not just campaign materials, but tools to support their businesses.”
He promised that every trader in Anambra State will receive one in due time.
A member of the support group, Managing Director Anambra Medical Oxygen Production Plant, Mrs Nwamaka Arinze also lauded Governor Soludo.
She said: “Soludo has built roads and even Fun City for leisure. He is turning Anambra into a model state.”
The traders on their parts expressed satisfaction on Soludo’s administration and promised to vote for him again, for continuation of his good works in Anambra State; even as they received the aprons with great joy.
Those interviewed included fruit sellers: Mrs Evelyn Onyema, Blessing Nwakeze, Ifeoma Ofodile, Maria Rapuluchukwu, Miss Chika and Mr. Chikodili Igwenagu, among others.
