Nigeria’s coronavirus outbreak recorded 304 new cases Tuesday as reported by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). The numbers had dipped for two days before returning to the new figure bringing Nigeria’s confirmed coronavirus infections to 44,433.
The NCDC, which made the announcement via its twitter handle, also announced 910 as the total number of deaths from the virus in the country, while putting the number of recoveries at 31,851.
As of August 4, the confirmed coronavirus death toll on the African continent stood at 20,612. There are 968,020 confirmed infections and 629,726 recoveries, according to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.
More than 18.44 million people around the world have been diagnosed with the new coronavirus as of Wednesday, up more than 400,000 in just one day. More than 11 million have recovered, and almost 700,000 have died.
