The Chairman of the New Nigeria People Party in Kano State, Hashimu Dungurawa has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress of plotting to convert Nigeria into a one party state.
Speaking to Daily Sun Dungurawa alleged that the judicial verdicts at the Appeal Court recently sacking a number of opposition state Governors were not accidental by any means.
While objecting to the judgement of the Appeal Court which sacked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, he stressed that,” it was unfortunate that one political party wants to over run the rest of the political parties in our democracy, one party wants to over run the whole of Nigeria and make itself the sole poñitical party in the country. This is unfortunate.”
” The APC already has 22 out of the 36 state Governors to themselves. Yet they are not satisfied. They want everything and everything! But this cannot stand”
He observed that in many democracies across the globe , there are rooms for smaller political parties to operate. In América, for instance, there are smaller political parties who are thriving and impacting positively on the society. But the APC will not want to learn the practice of democracy from these countries”
He enjoined Nigerians to be alert and vigilant, saying that they should be on their feat and guard the mandate they freely gave to these Governors in all the affected states, particularly in Kano State where they overwhelmingly voted for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. (Sun)
