There is apprehension in Dong Community of Jos North Local Government Area after a hyena escaped from the local wildlife park.
It was gathered the hyena escaped from its enclosure at the community wildlife park on Sunday, triggering panic among residents of Dong and nearby State and Federal Low-Cost estates.

FCT Police arrest man who climbed mast to protest hardship for attempted suicide (Sun)
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), police command said it has arrested one Shuaibu Alhaji Yushau, who climbed a very high mast with a placard at ASO Radio in Katampe district over the harsh economic situation in the country.
The suspect was said to have been arrested after much professional persuasion from the police operatives.
Yushau, was said to have left a who left a suicide note at the foot of the mast early monday morning stating that he is willing to sacrifice his life for the solution to the problem of Nigerians. Read more
Fuel scarcity: Commercial bus operators hike fares in Lagos (Vanguard)
Commercial bus operators on Monday, hiked their fares on various routes in Lagos State due to fresh scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called Petrol.
Our correspondent who monitored the situation observed that the fares were increased between N100 to N200 per cent depending on the route.

The Kano State Government has cleared the air on the social media post linking the Hisbah Board to LGBTQ, saying the state Shariah law prohibits same-sex marriage.
A widely circulated video featured a man claiming to be a Hisbah official defending the rights of the LGBTQ.
The Commander General of Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, briefed the media on the development in Kano on Monday.
Daurawa said even though Hisbah can confirm that the person in the video is its staff member, he attended the said workshop on his own and did not represent the body as he claimed. Read more

Boeing will plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States as part of an agreement with the Justice Department. The charge is related to two fatal 737 MAX 8 jet crashes that killed a combined 346 people in 2018 and 2019.
According to a court filing outlining the plea agreement reviewed by PEOPLE, Boeing will be subjected to a $487.2 million fine and will be required to invest at least $455 million in its own compliance and safety programs. A federal judge will need to approve the plea agreement before it becomes official.

Referee Felix Zwayer, who once served a six-month ban for match fixing, will officiate during Wednesday’s Euro 2024 semifinal between England and the Netherlands, UEFA announced.
The German will work alongside assistant referees Stefan Lupp and Marco Achmuller, fourth official Daniel Siebert and video assistant referee Bastian Dankert in the all-German crew. The game will be held at 3 p.m EDT Wednesday at Dortmund, Germany, and air on Fox.

327 athletes set to compete for Team GB in Paris this summer, fewer than appeared at the Tokyo Olympics; More women than men will represent Team GB for the second successive games; Olympics runs from July 26 to August 11
UK Sport, the body responsible for distributing public money to Olympic sports and their athletes, has said it expects Team GB to win at least 50 medals at Paris 2024.
