Eighteen months after the bloody end of the #EndSARS protest, Lekki Concession Company (LCC) has announced that toll collection will recommence at the Ikoyi link bridge on April 1.

LCC Managing Director, Yomi Omomuwasan announced that commuters will not pay the toll for the first two weeks until April 15.

He said there had been consultations with stakeholders including the Lagos government, residentsโ€™ associations, traditional rulers, community leaders and professional bodies.

Omomuwasan confirmed the introduction of new technology and innovations to make passages seamless and faster for commuters.

โ€œWe are replacing old toll devices with upgraded ones for faster throughput at the Toll Plaza.

โ€œThe new devices have been configured to synchronise with the newly upgraded tolling systems and will improve functionality while enabling a better experienceโ€, the MD said.
