Top Nigerian athletes have expressed their disappointment over their non-inclusion in the COVID-19 palliative by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, The PUNCH reports.
Several athletes, who spoke to The PUNCH, questioned the rationale behind the disbursement of the relief funds.
The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, had directed the payment of N50,000 into the accounts of Nigerian athletes to provide relief in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.
Over 200 athletes are expected to benefit from the palliative. But several top athletes alleged that they were of misappropriation of the funds has been raised by several federations. (Text and photo courtesy Punch)
