The board and management of the Audio Visual Rights Society (AVRS) expresses its profound condolence to the family of popular Nollywood actress, Aisha Abimbola, and the entire Nigerian movie industry.
Abimbola reportedly died in the early hours of Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in faraway Canada.
In its letter dated May 16, 2018, the General Manager/CEO of sole collective management organisation (CMO) for cinematograph films in Nigeria, Olubunmi Fawole, stated that Abimbola also known as “Omoge Campus” will be missed, going by her active involvement in creating awareness and helping the entire industry to get involved in AVRS activities.
“The entire Board and Management of Audio Visual Right Society of Nigeria hereby wish to express our profound condolence to the entire executive and members of TAMPAN, YOVIPMAN and the Nigerian Movie Industry at large on the demise of Aisha Abimbola, who was until her death was a member of AVRS and actively took part in our users’ awareness programmes”.
The chairman of AVRS, Bond Emeruwa, also added that the entire society and the industry at large will miss her; “We know this is a sad, and an emotional moment for the movie industry. We pray that God grants the members, friends and families the fortitude to bear the loss”.
